US Model Mint

1953 Crosley Delivery - US36

These cars had a monocoque aluminium body and a 725cc engine that produced 27 bhp. This was a four-cylinder engine with an overhead camshaft that was easily more highly tuned. This car, with a length of 12’ 6", was 9 3/4 shorter than a VW Beetle and with a top speed of 75 mph was really dangerously fast.

This delivery vehicle is a standard Crosley underneath but it has had the rear seats removed to allow it to be used as a delivery van. This van, like the car version, dates from 1951.

1950 Studebaker Wrecker - US32

One of America’s oldest truck manufacturers, Studebaker started back in 1852 at South Bend, Indiana, building horse drawn wagons. This 1950 Wrecker would have been a typical site on the US highways and byways. Studebaker trucks were way ahead of their time with easy-chair comfort and the world’s finest ventilating system they were also fitted with many safety features.

Red version of this famous 1953 Dodge Truck. The short turning radius of these ‘C.O.E.’ (cab-over-engine) models made for easier handling at docks, in narrow streets and for curb parking. The cabs were full width, roomy and comfortable with no projecting housing above the floor to crowd the driver.

1947 International KB-12 Tipper - US23

The K Series truck, produced both in Emeryville and Fort Wayne, Indiana, helped International capture a significant chunk of the Class 8 market. The tipper was a serious load lugger and is a typical example of trucks used in highway building. Production of the 'KB', the largest of the K Series trucks ended in 1949.
